HISTORY OF THE CASTLE LIBLICE
Liblice Castle is one of the most compact monuments of the Bohemian high Baroque from the school of Italian architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi, who elaborated a characteristic project of a new building upon an impulse of the contemporary owner of the dominion, Arnošt Josef Pachta of Rájov , who was later on promoted into countship, original project of the new work.
In 1863 Countess Antonia von Wallenstein bought the castle. She modified interiors of the castle in the then contemporary neo-Renaissance style. After Antonia von Wallenstein death her daughter Christiana Thun Hohenstein inherited the property. So the last aristocratic family who owned the castle were Thun-Hohenstein till 1945 when the castle became the property of the state which later awarded the castle to the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
